Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2025-04-05

About this Policy

Peniwallet respects and protects the privacy of its users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information gathered through our decentralized application interface and any other site that links to this Privacy Policy (collectively, "Services"). It also describes your rights and choices with respect to your information and how you can contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Application Functionality

Peniwallet operates as a decentralized application (dApp) interface that provides direct access to public blockchain networks and facilitates interaction with decentralized exchange protocols. To sign transactions you initiate, the application requires your private key or seed phrase, which is stored encrypted solely on your local device. Peniwallet, the company, never has access to, stores, or transmits your private keys or seed phrases. The application does not maintain user accounts or balances beyond what is publicly readable on the blockchain and operates without requiring user registration for core wallet functionality.

Your Information

1. Personal Information We Collect

A. Personal Information You Provide:

When you engage with our Services, you might provide certain personal information. For instance, if you sign up to receive updates, you provide us with contact information like your email address. If you communicate with us directly or post on the Services, we may receive your contact details, the time and content of your message, and any attachments. Additionally, the public blockchain addresses you use to interact with protocols are inherently part of your interaction, though these are public by the nature of blockchain technology.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

While we do not collect Personal Information automatically through Cookies, using our Services may involve the automatic collection of anonymized information. This can include metrics about page views and UI interactions, details about your web browser and device type, network information used for transaction optimization, public blockchain transaction data, and data related to smart contract interactions.

C. Information We Do Not Collect or Access

We want to be explicit about the information we do not collect, access, store on our servers, or transmit. This includes your private keys or wallet seed phrases, which are stored encrypted only on your local device and are inaccessible to Peniwallet. We also do not gather specific transaction amounts or detailed balances tied to an identifiable user profile (as all transaction data is inherently public on the blockchain), personal financial information beyond public wallet addresses, detailed trading history or positions linked to an identifiable user profile, or any Know Your Customer (KYC)/identity information.

How We Use Personal Information

The personal information we do collect is used for several purposes. These include operating and maintaining the decentralized interface, communicating with you for administrative and informational reasons, and marketing efforts like sending promotional communications. We also use this information for understanding and improving the Services, compliance, risk management, fraud prevention, security, and optimizing network interactions and gas fees.

How We Share Your Personal Information

We will not disclose your Personal Information to third parties without your consent, except under specific circumstances. We may share information with third-party service providers who perform essential services on our behalf. Additionally, we might disclose information if required by law or legal process. We may also use de-identified or aggregated data, which doesn't personally identify you, for research or analysis purposes.

Blockchain Data

It's important to understand the nature of public blockchains. Any information you submit to a public blockchain becomes publicly visible and immutable. We do not control this data, and its privacy characteristics are subject to the underlying blockchain technology itself.

Security

We implement physical, organizational, and technical safeguards to protect the limited information we handle, such as contact information if you provide it. However, no security system is entirely foolproof. Crucially, the security of your funds relies heavily on the security of the private keys stored on your device. You are solely responsible for securing your device and your private keys or seed phrases. We reiterate that Peniwallet, the company, never has access to your private keys or the funds stored within the application on your device.

Your Rights and Choices

You have choices regarding your Personal Information. You may choose not to share certain information, although this could limit your access to some features of the Services. As Peniwallet is a decentralized application, most core functionality primarily requires a connected wallet address rather than extensive personal data.

Use of Services by Minors

Our Services are not designed for or directed at individuals under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a minor under 13, we will take steps to delete it.

Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was last revised.
